After moving to the UK I started working on construction sites to learn the construction business. During this time I learned a lot about how to do and how not to do things. The people I learned from were tradesmen that were doing it for the love of the profession and who took pride in their work  They gave me a lot of tips and have taught me a lot about the different trades but all of them had one thing in common - they all took pride in what they were doing.

In 2006 I started my own business called Plan-B Property Maintenance & Renovation in the UK based on the same principles that I was taught.

When we moved back to South Africa I kept my business name and started doing the same here. Now 14 years later I wanted to expand and added a few building courses to my resume. I diversified and added aluminium window and door manufacturing as well as timber frame construction to the existing portfolio and started Wickfords Construction.

At Wickfords we still believe that only the best is good enough. We strive to provide all our clients with quality products, quality service and quality time. We still take pride in our work and all building jobs are guaranteed for 5 years. We specialize in the construction of timber frame homes where the timber is sourced from local suppliers and sustainable forests. Most of the products we use for finishing are imported as they are not readily available in South Africa.
